Professional members of ANZACATA must have completed a two-year Master’s degree that includes 750 hours of supervised clinical placement and is approved by a government qualifications authority (e.g., Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) Level 9). Master’s degrees awarded in other countries may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
From 1 July 2026, ANZACATA will only offer membership to graduates who hold a master degree (AQF/NZQF 9). For details, please refer to our Categories and Requirements page.
This change does not apply to students studying previously accredited AQF 6-8 courses who became a member of ANZACATA prior to 30 June 2026.
Please note that terms such as degree, master’s, and doctorate are protected and may only be used for courses that are officially registered. Members may not be aware that these terms are legally restricted to registered providers offering accredited courses.
ANZACATA’s website lists all approved training courses available in Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, and Singapore. To verify whether a provider or course is registered, please refer to the following authorities:
ANZACATA recognises courses and providers approved by TEQSA, ASQA, NZQA, CPE, and HKCAAVQ for membership eligibility. From time to time, ANZACATA may approve the content of non-registered or non-accredited courses as contributions to Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
