ANZACATA is partnered with Focus Insurance Brokers (Focus) to offer the ANZACATA Member Insurance program. The program offers a comprehensive Professional Indemnity and Public Liability Insurance policy to meet your professional needs, and of course give you peace of mind.

What cover is available to you?

Professional Indemnity (PI) Insurance

Creative Arts Therapists provide advice and support services. Your clients rely on this advice and support to improve their emotional state or wellbeing.

Creative Arts Therapists are trained professionals and this means that you own a duty of care to your clients. Duty of Care is a legal obligation requiring adherence to an industry standard of reasonable care while preventing any acts that could foreseeably harm others.

If your client alleges that you breached your duty of care, they may bring a claim against you or report you to an industry body. Professional Indemnity Insurance is designed to provide legal support to defend these claims and indemnify you for monetary damages awarded against you.

Features include:

  • Australian cover: Options for $10M and $20M Professional Indemnity and Public Liability insurance
  • New Zealand cover: Options for $10M and $20M Professional Indemnity. Public Liability Insurance is optional, speak to Focus for more information.
  • Unlimited Retroactive cover
  • Loss of documents
  • Breach of Confidentiality / Privacy

Refer to the Policy Wording and Endorsements for full policy inclusions and exclusions accessed via the ANZACATA member portal in the insurance section.

Public Liability Insurance

Creative Arts Therapists have a legal responsibility to ensure they operate their practice/profession in a safe environment.

Public liability insurance protects you and your business against claims of personal injury or property damage made by a third party because of your negligent business/practice operations. For example, if someone slips, falls, and injures themselves on your business premises, or their property is damaged while you're providing a service, they may take legal action against you or your business to recover their loss.

Please note that Public Liability cover is an optional cover for New Zealand members.

Additional cover

If you currently hold a Professional Indemnity and Public Liability policy with Focus, additional cover is available to you. This includes:

  • Business Insurance
  • Entity Insurance
  • Cyber Liability Insurance
  • Personal Accident Insurance

Additional cover may offer greater peace of mind.
