Contact ANZACATA

Have you looked at our ANZACATA FAQ's or Member FAQ's?

We have worked hard to ensure that our faqs are current and up-to-date with the most frequently asked questions.

We are a small part time team and presently do not have a person in the role of member services.

We have also compiled a list below of most frequently asked member services questions and answers to alleviate the pressure on our small team.

We kindly ask you review the list before using the contact form below.

Tier membership

Q: Is Tier membership being phased out?
A: From July 2026, ANZACATA will no longer accept new practising members who hold qualifications below AQF Level 9 (i.e., below a Master's degree in Creative Arts Therapy). This means graduates of Advanced Diplomas, Bachelor degrees, Graduate Certificates, and Graduate Diplomas will no longer be eligible for Tier membership.

Q: Why is ANZACATA making this change?
A: This decision aligns with evolving government expectations that mental health professionals hold qualifications at the Master's level. Increasingly, government-funded services such as the NDIS and Aged Care are requiring higher qualifications for therapists delivering clinical services.

Q: How does this affect current Tier members?
A: Existing Tier members will not be impacted by this change and may continue their membership. The change only applies to new applicants from July 2026 onward.

Q: What about students currently enrolled in Tier-level courses?
A: Students who begin their studies before July 2026 in a recognised Tier-level course will remain eligible for Tier membership upon graduation.

Q: Will there be a pathway to upgrade from Tier to Professional membership?
A: ANZACATA is exploring options to support Tier members in upgrading to Professional membership. However, no formal bridging program currently exists, and significant work is still needed to determine feasibility, costs, and requirements.

Q: What should prospective students consider?
A: If you are considering a career in Creative Arts Therapy, ANZACATA strongly recommends enrolling in a Master's level program to ensure eligibility for Professional membership and access to full professional benefits, including NDIS recognition.

A: Only if it's part of a therapeutic program and not a regular work duty. It must relate to therapy and ideally be paid or externally organised.

Supervision

More information about Supervision can be found in the Member Portal, ANZACATA - Supervision Policy.
