Special expertise
My name is Daniela, and I am a registered Social Worker and supervisor with ANZASW, as well as a Registered Clinical Arts Therapist with ANZACATA.
I have been working as an independent clinician for the past five years. In my role as an ACC Therapist for sensitive claims, I provide therapy through a mobile clinic, meeting clients at the Auckland City Mission, as well as in a private practice space in Auckland CBD. I also offer EAP counselling as a contractor, external supervision, and both online and in-person services.
Prior to this, I worked as a Care and Protection Social Worker and a Crisis Social Worker, where I managed casework and supported individuals in crisis. I have extensive experience supporting youth and adults facing challenges such as mental health issues, trauma, addictions, domestic violence, and grief.
Additionally, I am an experienced group facilitator. I have co-facilitated groups focusing on Dissociative Identity Disorder, Eating Disorders, wellbeing, recovery, and Arts Therapy for mental health. I also run a side project that uses Applied Theatre as a tool for conflict resolution.
I am based in Auckland, New Zealand and work online.
Originally from Chile, I have been a New Zealand citizen since 1992. I am fluent in both Spanish and English, having completed my high school and tertiary education in Aotearoa.
