Therapeutic Supports
Special expertise
I have been practicing for over fifteen years. I'm currently the manager of "Newcastle Music and Art Therapy". We have a team of four Art Therapists and five Music providing support to people of all abilities across the lifespan. We have a purpose-built space with art and music rooms and also go out into the community to run groups eg aged care, schools, hospitals and community settings. We see people one on one under the NDIS and through FACS.
I also provide external clinical supervision over zoom to art therapists around Australia.
I personally have been working under the NDIS since it was a trial site in 2014 and worked in the disability sector for over two decades. I have also worked in mental health for many years; in both private and public hospitals in mental health units, outpatient programs, community settings and NGO's.
Basically, I have heard a lot of stories and connected with people from all walks of life. I have supported people to use art to tell their stories in a different way, to ground and soothe and express things in ways that feel safe for them. I love my work.
Additional information
I have a particular passion for working with neurodiverse and LGBTQIA+ folks and people who have experienced complex trauma.

The disability sector- I've worked in this sector for 20 years and have been working under the NDIS since 2014 in Newcastle's trial site
Private practice- I had my own practice for years and am now a manager of a team of art therapists who are employed through a group private practice. We have successful contracts from schools, hospitals, aged care facilities and NDIS.
Adult mental health- I have worked in public and private hospitals and in community settings for many years. Facilitated both psychodynamic art therapy groups and DBT groups,
Aged care- I have worked in a dementia units, high care and low care facilities

I am experienced and a lifelong learner. I know that I don't know everything and that's ok. I love to walk alongside people, be curious, be gentle, be playful and most of all, be authentic. The therapeutic relationship is the foundation of all that I do.
